LIVERPOOL GET NEW BOSS

New era?

Liverpool have confirmed the appointment of former Fulham boss Roy Hodgson as their new manager, but the Reds are still available at 14/1 to lift the title next season.

The 62-year-old has signed a three-year deal at Anfield to replace Rafa Benitez following the Spaniard's departure last month.

Hodgson has been Liverpool's top target for some time and they have now finally got their man after agreeing a compensation package with Fulham.

Hodgson's stock has risen sharply since guiding Fulham to the final of the Europa League last season and he was named manager of the year by the League Managers Association in 2009/10.

The former Inter Milan and Blackburn boss is relishing the prospect of taking over at Liverpool describing the job as the 'biggest in club football'.

"This is the biggest job in club football and I'm honoured to be taking on the role of manager of Britain's most successful football club,"

"I look forward to meeting the players and the supporters and getting down to work at Melwood."

Champions League qualification will be the minimum expected of Hodgson and at 11/8 with paddypower, Liverpool could be worth a bet.

If they keep hold of Torres and Gerrard then they will make a much bolder showing than they did this season with a new manat the healm.
