The League cup is a minefield for punters. On paper West Brom at 4/7 would be bankers to win at League 2 Accrington for example.

We know John Coleman will play a strong side because the agme means so much to a small club - and they saw off Preston in the last round.

Tony Pulis the odd season apart has never ripped up any trees in Cups and both Stoke and West Brom have some shocking recent results to lower league sides under Pulis.

But, last couple of seasons - primarily because he knows his side is safe in the League - he has played stronger units in games like this - Accrington beware.

Other Premier League sides Leicester(at Sheff Utd), Swansea at MK Dons and Watford at home to Bristol City can  all progress - add West brom and the acca pays over 5/1 - it might be an option for a small punt.

History tells us though that there will be shocks - Brighton have worries already about Premier League survival and we wouldn't be taking 4/11 about their reserves beating Barnet.

In contrast Hull have been freindless against Doncaster - but the later leak goals and even with several changes Hull might be the value punt on a trappy night at 11/5
