Jurgen Klopp's season could implode if they lose to Porto in the Champions League tie.

The likeable German plays an attractive game but the countless defensive fralities have time and again seen his side come unstuck. They have missed out on the League Cup, knocked out of the FA Cup by strugglers West Brom, and off the pace in the league - 18 points behind leaders Manchester City.

Whilst the Liverpool Board, and for that matter the fans won't expect Liverpool to beat the likes of Barcelona, Manchester City or Paris St Germain, they won't expect a defeat to Porto either.

It is to Liverpool's advantage that they play the first leg away, and such is their style they are more than likely to score a vital away goal.

Given the clubs Liverpool could have faced they were handed a reasonable chance of progress. Portugese football has fallen a bit behind the likes of Spain, Italy and France. Despite the exploits of the national side.

Other than Emre Can, who is banned, Liverpool are at full strength. Porto have more problems, none more so than the loss of Felipe who is supended.

Liverpool have been great on the road with 8 wins in the Prem, but they drew the two hard games away in their Group games - at Sevilla and Spartak which suggests 11/8 about an away win looks poor value. Punters often steer clear of the draw but with a home leg to come a draw will suit the Reds and that looks a more value punt at 13/5.
