Gordon Strachan may have gone and the Scottish squad has a totally new look as new boss Alex McLeish starts his second stint in charge with a home game against Costa Rica.

Interestingly both Mcleish and the visitors boss Oscar Ramirez played in a famous game at Italia 1990 - Scotland were beaten by the then unknown Costa Ricans.

McLeish is not the universal choice for the job and it will be hard to follow Strachan who's record was quite good and under him the Scots lost just one of their last eight and that was to Holland.

McLeish has drafted in a whole ruck of new players, and that is always a hard act to pull off. Scotland may have failed to make it to Russia but they were never going to from a very difficult group. They are still ranked in the top 30 by Fifa as are Costa Rica..

The game will be harder to call than home fans might expect and backing the visitors to win and both teams to score looks a value punt at 7s generally.
